About the event
Black Veterans Empowerment Council (BVEC) is a non-partisan coalition of national, state, and local veterans organizations seeking to shift long-standing racial, economic and social inequities suffered by Black veterans in the United States.
In June 2022, BVEC will host the nation's very first convening of Black veterans organizations, bringing together leaders of all stripes, researchers, service providers, and public servants invested in curbing racial inequity in the veterans' community and honoring the legacy of Black military service.
Hosted in Washington D.C., the two-day event welcomes veterans, service members, affiliated organizations, and agencies from across the United States to share best practices in a spirit of collaboration aimed at dismantling barriers to economic opportunity and increasing access to veteran's benefits and utilization.
BVEC's national convening will include a series of discussions and workshops to illuminate and build upon BVEC's Black Veterans Policy framework. Our objective is to equip participants with both a path forward and an unprecedented network to get it done.
